Meeting minutes detailing the first actions of the Cherrydale Library Association, including election of officers and creation of a constitution.

Nov. 1937
The meeting was called to order by the temporary chairman Mrs. McHale. Representatives present were introduced. A motion as made and carried that a Cherrydale Library Association be formed. Nominations and elections of officers were then in order for officers of the association.
For President Mrs. Walton
Motion seconded that winning ballot be ? for Mrs. Walton
Vice president Mrs. Sedgwick
Secretary Mrs. Gale Crittendon
Treasurer Mrs. Crittendon and ? Vice
Mrs. Wallace offered to the association a ? of property on Quincy Street a which a temporary building could be placed with the possibility of a more ? building being put up later. It was voted that a committee be appointed to look into the creation of the library to report back at the next meeting.
It was voted then the officers constitute a constitution and a report book at the next meeting. Membership requirements for the association were discussed. It was suggested that anyone interested would be welcome to join. It was also suggested the association be made up of representatives from the various organizations in the community. It was suggested that overall dues could be charged.
Mrs. Joane ?, a messenger from the Lee Highway Business Association explaining their interest and willingness to lend some financial support. It was decided the next meeting would be held Nov. 12th at 8 o’clock. Mrs. Blattner as a representative of the County Library Association answered questions concerning other libraries in the county. The meeting was adjourned.

The meeting was called to order by the president. The constitution was discussed by the president and the views of the members concerning the future basis of membership in the association were obtained. It was decided to adjourn until the 3rd Tuesday in January when the constitution and other vital matters could be decided upon. The meeting was adjourned.
